Brian Newport joined the School of Government in 2002. Prior to that, he worked in the UNC-Chapel Hill Office of Undergraduate Admissions. He has also worked as a researcher
for a technology start-up in London, England, and as media relations director for a baseball minor league office in Durham. In his role as program manager, he manages the School's Municipal and County Administration course, and he also works with city and county clerks.
Newport holds a BA in communication studies from UNC-Chapel Hill.
