Patrice Roesler serves as manager of elected official programming for the Center for Public Leadership and Governance. Prior to joining the School of Government in January 2018, she worked for more than four decades at the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC), most recently serving as Deputy Director. In that capacity, she was responsible for directing strategic planning processes and developing education and training programs. As part of those efforts, she worked closely with the School of Government faculty and staff to develop and implement the Local Elected Leaders Academy. For 28 years before becoming NCACC Deputy Director, Roesler served as one of the organization’s legislative representatives, specializing in issues related to mental health, criminal justice/jails, social services, public health, the council of government programs, and federal issues related to community and economic development. She holds a B.A. in English from Atlantic Christian College, now Barton College, in Wilson, NC.
