Innovations in Technology
The Center for Public Technology helps government officials
throughout the state better understand, plan
for and use technology in solving public problems.
A 1996 needs assessment
identified a critical gap between available
information technology and its use by local
governments to improve service to citizens,
increase productivity and reduce costs. This led to the creation of the Center for Public Technology in 2000. The center brings an important new dimension
to the level and type of assistance the School
provides to local governments, leveraging
the considerable expertise of School of Government faculty
in the areas of law, finance, management, and
public administration.
Gifts to support the work of the Center are welcome and can be made online by clicking on "How to Make a Gift."
