schedule for migration to campus e-mail system
This summer the School of Government will migrate the management and maintenance of our Exchange e-mail system to the UNC-Chapel Hill campus system in an effort to consolidate resources and provide a more stable messaging environment.
The move will involve the migration of all existing Exchange mailboxes. This will include your e-mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, and personal folders. All public folders will also be moved. Your e-mail address will not change, and access to your personal address book and local archives will not be affected by this move.
The time required to move each mailbox is approximately 10 minutes (depending on your mailbox size). You will not be able to access your desktop client during this time, but you will be able to send and and receive new mail using Outlook Web Access. To minimize the impact, all mailboxes are being moved outside of regular office hours (see schedule below). Each migration will start after 6 p.m. on Friday and finish by 5 p.m. on Saturday.
