Leading Your Municipal Governing Board

This course prepares new mayors to exercise their leadership responsibilities by addressing meeting procedures and mayor-council relations. At the beginning of the orientation, participants will discuss their specific issues of concern to help guide the agenda. Topics discussed during previous programs have included the mayor's role; the new mayor's transition; the North Carolina open meetings law; using rules of procedure; and working with the media.
