The CIO Certification Program is a 10-month course that lays the foundation for assessing and addressing the most critical issues facing information technology (IT) leadership in local governments. The purpose of the course is to equip leaders with the requisite tools to manage and improve their organizational technology assets. The course will address major topics including IT governance, project management, and risk assessment and management.

School of Government

A group of rooms at the Aloft Hotel, just located at the bottom of the hill from the school, have been reserved at the state per diam rate. When reserving your room, please mention that you are with the CGCIO course at UNC School of Government to receive the special rate.  Aloft also provides free shuttle service.

A group of rooms at the Holliday Inn Express near the school have been reserved for you at a rate of 69.00/night.  Please mention that you are with the CGCIO course at UNC School of Government to receive the special rate. The hotel has just been renovated and your stay comes with a full deluxe hot breakfast, high speed wireless internet access, local shuttle service and a Guest Reception on Tuesday / Wednesday from 5:30pm – 7:00pm.

Cancellation policy

Course participants who cancel their registration on or before January 11, 2012 will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before January 18, 2012 will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after January 18, 2012. All cancellations must be submitted in writing, as outlined in the School's cancellation policy.
