Parent Attorney Conference

The Parent Attorney Conference provides training for attorneys who represent parents in abuse, neglect, and dependency proceedings. The 2011 conference focused on representing parents with mental health disorders. Topics included the current state of North Carolina’s mental health system, the ubiquitous “psychological evaluation,” commonly occurring mental health disorders and preferred treatments, and ethical issues involving clients with diminished capacity.
