"Down but Not Out: The Duty of Zealous Advocacy" was presented by attorney Macon Clark at the 2010 Parent Attorney Conference. In this session, Mr. Clark discusses the roles and responsibilities of parent attorneys during termination of parental rights proceedings. His presentation includes a discussion of frequently encountered ethical issues, including obligations and options when a client is absent during critical phases of litigation. Mr. Clark uses the Revised Rules of Professional Conduct, case law, and statutes as framework.
