Committee membersCandidates Club > Scholarship Program The North Carolina Candidates Club Scholarship Program was created to provide funds to individuals for the purpose of furthering the completion of their professional designation and to encourage individuals with awards and cash donations upon obtaining their Professional Designation. The Scholarship Program is funded by contributions and donations made to the North Carolina Candidates Club. A committee consisting of the four Candidates Club officers and one Candidates Club member appointed by the officers will review the applications. Applications for the Scholarship are based on sincerity of the applicant to work on their designation. The selection of the recipients is within the sole discretion of this committee. Funds will be awarded to applicants who intend to use the funds towards completing their professional designations. A member of the Candidates Club should not apply if they do not intend to actively work on their designation. Applicants must be a member in good standing with the International Association of Assessing Officers and the North Carolina Candidates Club. The scholarship is meant to serve as an additional source of revenue after the applicant has already applied for financial assistance from the Jeff Hunt Trust, other similar sources, as well as their respective government employers. This scholarship will pay for additional expenses that are not normally paid for by other scholarships, including: 1) To encourage writing the demonstration appraisal report, The Candidates Club will pay ½ of the IAAO membership dues in addition to 100% of their candidacy fees for one year if the member signs a pledge to complete their demonstration appraisal report or other comparable case study exam within that year of candidacy. Once a member has taken this option, it cannot be repeated. 2) If one course is the only requirement remaining to receive a designation, the Candidates Club will, upon approval by the officers (approval committee), reimburse expenses for the course, in-state or out-of-state upon receiving a passing grade and the designation. 3) Beginning with the spring meeting
and each January 1 thereafter, $100 will be added
to a separate award fund and will be given to the
next new designee who is in good standing with the
Candidates Club. The awarding of funds from the scholarship will be based on availability. Any club member in good standing may review the balance of the club's funds at any time. Funds are rewarded without regard to race, sex, or national origin of the applicants. Authority for disbursing the funds is the sole responsibility of the North Carolina Candidates Club Scholarship Committee. For administrative purposes, applicants are requested to submit a completed application, along with any documentation they may wish to be considered during the processing of the application. You can print an application from the link below. If you do not have Acrobat Reader already installed you can download it below.
