Performance Guidelines
The guidelines below were developed by the North Carolina Office of Indigent Defense Services to assist public defenders and apponted counsel in the indicated areas of practice. The guidelines identify issues that may arise at each stage of the proceedings and recommend effective approaches to resolving these issues.
