Admission Guidelines
Admission to Municipal and County Administration is determined by a committee of School of Government faculty. In making admission decisions, the committee considers several factors:
- City and county managers and town administrators receive priority in admissions.
- Among applicants other than managers and those identified by the unit, priority is given to department heads, individuals seeking to move up in their organizations, and individuals whose positions within their organization require a broad understanding of the entire organization or local government generally.
- Diversity based upon geographic representation and size and type of governmental unit is a goal of the selection committee.
- Jurisdictions with multiple applicants must indicate the order in which they would prefer those applicants to be considered for admission; the committee will take this ranking into consideration when making admission decisions.
