project status

Dale Roenigk is the project director. David Ammons and William Rivenbark are faculty advisors, providing the guidance and support required by an expanding benchmarking project. Lee Carter continues to serve as a project advisor, particularly with the development and use of the project's cost accounting model.

Emphasis is currently being placed on looking at ways to make the collected information more useful to municipalities and documenting their success stories. Additionally, the project is focused on ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the performance and cost data. This includes performing periodic audits of service areas and providing training on data collection and reporting.

The data collection and report distribution schedule is as follows:

• August – Distribution of service profile and accounting forms
• October – Data collection deadline
• November – Distribution of performance and cost data
• December – Data cleaning meeting
• January – First draft of performance and cost data report
• January - Final version of performance and cost data report
