The School of Government, the MPA program, and UNC-Chapel Hill have lost a monumental scholar, mentor, and friend. A legend in the fields of public administration and political science, a national and international figure, Deil Wright, Professor Emeritus of Political Science, was beloved by all who knew him.

Thanks to a 2007 project by a group of first-year students, the School of Government is greening its own operations and serving as a model to North Carolina government leaders who attend classes, workshops, and seminars in the building. SOGreen is now a initiative that brings together MPA students, faculty and School staff members.
