Board of equalization and review members, tax administrators, assessors, and county attorneys will benefit from this interactive discussion of the best practices for hearing property tax appeals at the county level. The Machinery Act creates very few statutory guidelines for county board of equalization and review procedures, resulting in wide variety of practices from county to county. This webinar will encourage more consistent procedures across the state, emphasizing efficiency and equity for all taxpayers. With contributions from School of Government faculty, Department of Revenue staff, and experienced local property tax officials, the webinar should help counties reduce taxpayer complaints about the appeal process and increase overall taxpayer satisfaction with the services provided by their local tax office.
