Short-Term Rental Workshop

With the growing popularity of Airbnb’s and other short-term rentals, more and more North Carolina local governments are questioning whether to regulate these properties and wondering how best to ensure collection of their occupancy taxes. Through a series of lectures, discussions, and interactive exercises, participants in this one-day course will learn about the best practices, trends, and issues surrounding the regulation of short-term rentals and will discuss the nuts and bolts of the occupancy tax process. The course is appropriate for any county or municipal employee (including board members, managers, and zoning and planning officers) who wishes to learn more about the regulation and taxation of these properties.
