State Treasurers Auditing, Reporting, and Review

This course is sponsored by NC State Treasurer's Office, Local Government Commission Division .

The 2020 State Treasurers AND  Local Government Auditing, Reporting, and Review conferences have combined.

We are offering a series of Live Zoom sessions during the month of June that combine the State Treasurers Conference, and the Local Government Auditing, Reporting, and Review. This new Zoom series is titled: The State Treasurers Auditing, Reporting, and Review. These sessions can be purchased individually.

All 4 sessions take place 10:00am — 12:00pm

New Registration Process for these Online Sessions
Attendees will need to be registered in 2 places: Once through SOG via the register links above like we’ve always done, and also through Zoom using the same name and email address for both registrations.

  • Here’s how it works
  • Once you complete your registration(s) through the links above, you will receive a confirmation email that also contains a special link to complete an additional registration form in Zoom.
  • This Zoom form ensures accurate attendance records and adds a layer of security.
  • Zoom will then send you a unique access web link that will allow you to join the zoom session specified.
  • This access information is unique and personalized just for you and will not work for others.
  • Please be sure to add this unique Zoom weblink information to your calendar so you’ll have it when you need it.

About CPE Credit: New Process for this Program-Read Carefully

  • Join using the unique link you received from Zoom (see the section Zoom Registration above). Do not share this link as it is connected to your Zoom registration.
  • CPE credit is not available to those who join from their phone only. Using a computer/laptop/tablet that displays your registration name will ensure you can claim credit. See the section above titled What Devices Can I Use?
  • CPE sign-in/verification: Your Zoom display name must match up with our registration records to receive CPE credit.

CPE Form/Process:

  • Special Spoken CPE Codes for Each Session: Note on your CPE form, the spoken code at the beginning of each session, and the code spoken at the end of each session.
  • The link to a fillable CPE form will be on the SOG course page under Materials by 6/16:
  • Download the fillable CPE form and fill it out as you attend sessions
  • All sessions are listed on one CPE form (6/16, 6/18, 6/23, and 6/25)
  • Complete one CPE form for all session(s) as you attend
  • After your last session that you attend, use the same link on the Materials section or at the bottom of your CPE form to upload your completed CPE form to our website.
  • The link will ask you for your name and email, and then you can upload your completed form to our secure website
  • Do not fax or email forms. We are not able to receive fax or email forms as our offices are closed. You must use the link in the materials tab or at the bottom of your CPE form for us to retain a copy as a backup in case of an audit.
  • The deadline to upload your completed form is July 15th.

Advance Preparation for your Zoom Session

It is important that you test and troubleshoot your equipment prior to the session. Technical assistance the day of or during the session is very limited.

  • You will need a computer/laptop/iPad with internet to receive credit, preferably equipped with a camera and microphone. This is to receive full credit for attending. You will need to see/hear speakers, other attendees and also participate in class using polling, the chat box and other class exercises.
  • Can I just call in from my phone and listen to the program? No. In order to receive CPE for this program you must be able to see the speaker and presentation documents, participate in polling, and see and use the chat box, and yes/no buttons. You cannot do all this from your phone. Your Zoom display name must also match our registration list in order to take attendance and to receive CPE credit.
  • My computer does not have a camera. You can participate with a computer that is not equipped with a camera. By joining from a computer not equipped with a camera, you can still see the presentation, participate in polling, see and use the chat box. We just will not be able to see you.
  • I have a camera on my computer but don’t want my video on during this session. You have the ability to turn your own video on or off at any time during the meeting and still see the presentation and chat features.
  • My computer is not equipped with a microphone/speaker. You will need to access Zoom with your computer AND phone.  Click on the following link for instructions on using your computer and phone together:  How do I join a meeting by phone and pair it with my screen name for accurate attendance?

Zoom Testing:

  • Join a test meeting HERE to ensure that your computer has the software and connection speed necessary to participate. Zoom will ask you 2 questions regarding audio, if the answer is yes to both, you will see the message “Speaker and microphone looks good”.
  • Test your video HERE to ensure your camera is working correctly
  • For more information about how to join a meeting, click HERE.
  • If you have questions or issues when testing your equipment PRIOR to the session, please contact Susan Hutchinson at
  • For technical questions or issues the day of your session, email the SOG helpdesk at
