2016 Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA)

This session will provide an overview of the impact of placing children on sex offender registries and the landscape of youth registration laws in the U.S. The presenter will discuss the risk of a North Carolinian’s (with a juvenile sex offender adjudication) exposure to sex offender registration and notification in other states. The session will conclude with a discussion about possible solutions and action steps. Recorded at the August 12, 2016 Juvenile Defender Conference.
