In this session on substance abuse, the presenter explores the current neurobiological understanding of substance use disorders, the process of initiating and sustaining recovery and the prevalence and patterns of recovery. The session addresses lawyers’ responsibility to their clients and how lawyers can seek assistance through NC Bar Lawyer Assistance Program. Recorded at the January 2015 Civil Commitment Training.
