This program is for attorneys who are new to handling felony cases. Topics will include discovery and investigation, suppression motions, indictments, jury instructions, preserving the record, and other skills necessary to handle felony cases (other than trial skills, which are covered in the Defender Trial School). Defenders and private attorneys who perform a significant amount of appointed work. (This program is geared toward attorneys who are new to representing defendants charged with felonies in superior court.)

A block of rooms has been set aside on Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11, 2010, at the Holiday Inn Express of Chapel Hill/Durham at a reduced nightly rate of $74 plus tax. To make a reservation by phone, call the hotel directly at 919.489.7555 and provide the name and dates of the program. These rooms are being held on a first-come, first-served basis. You are responsible for making your own hotel reservation. The reservation deadline for the block rate is January 20, 2010.
This training will offer approximately 12.5 hours of CLE credit (general credit only).
Course participants who cancel their registration on or before January 28, 2010, will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before February 04, 2010, will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after February 04, 2010. All cancellations must be submitted in writing, as outlined in the School's cancellation policy.
