This training serves as an introductory program on representing juveniles in delinquency proceedings. Topics include ethics and the role of counsel in delinquency proceedings; communicating with child and adolescent clients, witnesses, and victims; problems with petitions; suppression issues; detention advocacy; and preparing and arguing disposition. The program features workshops in which participants practice trial skills, such as preparing and arguing a suppression motion, and includes a discussion with juveniles in detention in the Chatham Youth Development Center. Delinquency Dispositions Module 3: Determining Dispositional Options (.5 hour) - Forthcoming
This training will offer approximately 12 hours of CLE credit, including one hour of ethics/professional responsibility.
Course participants who cancel their registration on or before January 07, 2010, will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before January 14, 2010, will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after January 14, 2010. All cancellations must be submitted in writing, as outlined in the School's cancellation policy.
