Basic Training for Soil & Water Conservation Supervisors

This course is designed for both newly elected and appointed soil and water district supervisors, new district staff, and for experienced supervisors who want to learn about

  • the decisions they need to make as supervisors
  • the key resources available to supervisors
  • the legal and fiscal restrictions on their actions as supervisors
  • possibilities for the future of soil and water and the soil and water districts' roles in conservation.

The course will include presentations from agency officials and others who work with soil and water conservation across the state, discussion of actual projects being undertaken by soil and water districts, and group work on plans for the districts represented by the attendees.

Policy

Course participants who cancel their registration on or before February 02, 2010, will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before February 09, 2010, will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after February 09, 2010. All cancellations must be submitted in writing, as outlined in the School's cancellation policy.
