Courts and Judicial Administration

This is one of two annual conferences for attorneys who represent county departments of Social Services. Speakers at the 2009 Winter Conference addressed medical and psychological evaluations in juvenile cases; effective appellate advocacy; and ethical issues for social services attorneys. The conference also included a discussion of recent legal developments and of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children and a business meeting of the North Carolina Association of Social Services Attorneys. The 2009 Winter Conference was also offered via webcast for the first time.
