The North Carolina City and County Management Seminar focuses on topics of interest to city and county managers and administrators. The theme of the 2009 48th annual seminar was “GPS for Managers: Guiding Public Service in a Changing World.”
ICMA University Workshops included “Essential Management Skills” and “Using the Baldridge Award in Local Government.” Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker was the keynote speaker and David Limardi, ICMA president and Highland Park, Illinois, city manager spoke at the closing plenary session. Concurrent sessions includes discussions of the impact of the new administrations in Washington and Raleigh on local governments, the role of local governments in emergency management, and sustainability in tough economic times. Thursday afternoon featured a Revitalization Tour of downtown Durham culminating in a reception at the new Durham Performing Arts Center.

Course participants who cancel their registration on or before January 20, 2010, will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before January 27, 2010, will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after January 27, 2010.
