Emerging Leaders: Building Your Capacity to Lead

Emerging Leaders explores the nature, qualities, and practices of effective leadership. You will reflect on your current skills and increase your capacity to lead. The focus of the workshop is on how to inspire commitment to shared visions, to set high standards of achievement, and to lead others to accept challenges, embrace change, and strengthen their capacity to exceed expectations. 

In this workshop you will learn to

• Understand who you are as a leader and how you can impact your organization
• Recognize how others perceive you as a leader, including your strengths and weaknesses
• Use evaluation results and feedback from others to develop a leadership plan
• Advocate for yourself and listen to others

 

Attendees

This workshop is designed for city and county managers, assistant managers, department heads, public defenders and assistants, and public sector professionals who aspire to leadership positions within their organizations
