Community Development Academy

This intensive course covers the concepts, methods, and strategies of community development. With an emphasis on the administration of Community Development Block Grants for both Small Cities and Entitlement Jurisdictions, the course provides community development practitioners with significant perspective and practical skills on the regulations and legal responsibilities surrounding community development in North Carolina.

This course is held at the School of Government. A block of rooms have been reserved for you at the Siena Hotel . When you mention attending Community Development Academy at the SOG you can reserve a room at the special rate of $74.00 per night. 

Course Materials

Certification

The training enables each participant to receive a Certificate of completion, awarded by the School of Government and the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Community Assistance. In order to receive a certificate, participants must attend the entire training course and successfully complete an open-book exam.

Cancellation
Policy

Course participants who cancel their registration on or before February 23, 2010, will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before March 02, 2010, will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after March 02, 2010. All cancellations must be submitted in writing, as outlined in the School's cancellation policy.
