Environment

leadership training: coastal growth strategies

Environmental impacts from growth and development can affect local economies, public health, and community quality. This seminar will improve your understanding of land use and water quality linkages and illustrate how you can integrate environmental protection and restoration into your public policies and programs. The majority of the workshop will focus on highlighting practical local public policy options and growth strategies that have been implemented in coastal communities. These case studies demonstrate how communities have used various planning, stormwater management, and site development tools to address water quality protection or restoration without sacrificing economic development. This course is offered as part of the School of Government's Local Elected Leaders Academy.
