Exercising Discretion in the Trial Courts

This three-day Judicial College seminar will examine common decisions trial judges make that are entrusted to their discretion.  It will use case studies to illustrate important factors that contribute to judicial decisions and will discuss what is known about judicial decision-making in the current scientific literature.
