Essentials of Economic Development is designed to help local officials understand the fundamentals of economic development in the current economic climate. The workshop will help participants understand what is required to attract and support private investment in their communities. Participants will examine various economic development strategies and tools and consider how local governments in partnership with the nonprofit and private sectors, can help facilitate the process of creating jobs and wealth.
Scholarship funds are available through the Local Elected Leaders Academy for local elected officials only to use to attend Essentials of Economic Development. Application

Take exit 105. Turn right onto South Sterling Street. Travel through one stoplight and the center will be on your left.
Course participants who cancel their registration on or before May 28, 2013 will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before June 4, 2013 will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after June 4, 2013. All cancellations must be submitted in writing, as outlined in the School's cancellation policy.
