Essentials of Economic Development is designed to help local officials understand the fundamentals of economic development in the current economic climate. The workshop will help participants understand what is required to attract and support private investment in their communities. Participants will examine various economic development strategies and tools and consider how local governments in partnership with the nonprofit and private sectors, can help facilitate the process of creating jobs and wealth.
Who should attend: Local elected officials, administrators, and other professionals engaged in promoting economic development.
Credit: Local elected officials who complete this course will earn credit toward the Local Elected Leaders Academy (LELA) recognition.

Course participants who cancel their registration on or before June 3, 2015 will receive a full refund. Those who cancel on or before June 10, 2015 will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after June 10, 2015.
