About the School

In 1931 Albert Coates envisioned a new institution devoted to bringing the highest quality government to the people of North Carolina. Eight decades later, the School of Government continues to provide superior teaching, research, writing and advisory services to government officials and employees so they can serve North Carolina’s citizens more effectively, efficiently and responsibly.

New courses, programs, and publications continually address the changing needs of government in our state. Many excellent initiatives—some created recently, some planned for the future—are dependent for their success on private and public contributions.

Your support will fund lasting improvements in the quality of government and civic participation in North Carolina.
