This page provides descriptions of the School of Government’s current openings for staff positions (SPA).  All SPA positions are subject to the State Personnel Act of North Carolina.  SPA Non-Exempt positions are subject to the overtime provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act while SPA Exempt positions are not.

How to Apply – Positions categorized as Staff

The University at Chapel Hill requires that all candidates for positions categorized as Permanent Staff (SPA) apply through an online application process at Jobs at Carolina. The following link provides an overview of the application procedure: https://unc.peopleadmin.com/. Below are the steps to be completed to apply for a School of Government SPA staff position.

• From the PeopleAdmin homepage, select the Permanent Staff (SPA) Positions option located at the right of the page.
• This selection will take you to the search page. Using the Division/School drop down option, select School of Government and Search. This will take you to all open positions in the School of Government currently available for this employee type.
• Click the position you are applying for, select View Details, then click Apply to this Job to initiate the application process.
