Orientation for New Chief District Court Judges

This Judicial College course is offered for judges who are new to the position of chief district court judges. Both new chief district court and senior resident superior court judges will be together for part of the program, and the judges will meet separately for other portions. The program will cover a variety of topics related to administration of the court, including the role of the chief district judge; scheduling; performance measures; facilities and court security; case management; human resources; court leadership; and relations with the news media. Instructors will include experienced judges. Part of the program will be spent at the Judicial Center in Raleigh to learn more about Administrative Office of the Court services.
