The LGFCU Fellows Program: A new opportunity to build your organizational leadership
A select group of 75 individuals who represent the future of North Carolina local government leadership will be chosen as Local Government Federal Credit Union Fellows. LGFCU Fellows will participate — tuition-free — in an intensive learning experience that incorporates a course held in Chapel Hill, Leading for Results, with webinars, individual coaching sessions, and alumni events. Fellows will participate in one of two course offerings in cohorts of 25.

This program is for individuals new to managing and leading in their organization, individuals transitioning from technical to managerial and leadership responsibilities, and/or high performers who aspire to take on more leadership responsibilities.
Applications for the Fellows program are encouraged from local government professionals who lead or seek to lead in their organizations, including managers and assistant managers, department heads and supervisors, assistants and directors, executives, and administrators.
With the generous support of the Local Government Federal Credit Union, individuals selected as LGFCU Fellows will receive this program tuition-free. Participating organizations pay only for hotel and travel expenses to attend the classes held in Chapel Hill.
Attendance Policy: Once accepted, participants are expected to attend all sessions and events, including some evening events. If you are unable to attend any part of a specific cohort session, please indicate your preference for the alternative in your application. Please note that should a space not be available for you in the selected cohort, the application committee will assume you cannot attend and will not consider you for the alternative session.
Most sessions are held at the School of Government in Chapel Hill, NC. Directions will be provided otherwise.
Applications are now being accepted for the following cohorts:
Cohort 1: July 21-25 AND August 18-22, 2014
Cohort 2: September 15-19 AND October 13-17, 2014
Cohort 3: November 3-7 AND December 8-12, 2014
*applications for all cohorts, including a letter of support, are due by May 21, 2014 (applicants will be notified on or before June 21, 2014).
This new two-week course is designed to build and improve the skills of current and future leaders. Leading for Results, will help participants gain personal insights and knowledge of the practices and skills required for effective organizational leadership.
Participants will gain skills in:

· Effective communication
· Team building and motivation
