Professional Organizations for Clerks

On this page we provide information on professional organizations for clerks that operate statewide or international.

NC Association of County Clerks

Founded in 1976 at the Institute of Government (now UNC School of Government), the North Carolina Association of County Clerks to the Boards of County Commissioners (NCACC) provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and techniques used in the performance of the Clerks’ duties.

The association gathers information on the operation of the respective departments in the 100 counties of the state and is a pool of knowledge on existing and new federal and state programs as well as laws affecting county government. It helps professionals to keep abreast of new trends implemented in and by county governments throughout the state. NCACC promotes, creates and improves efficiency in the operations and record keeping of the Clerks’ office throughout the state of North Carolina.

The mission of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks (NCAMC), in cooperation with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, UNC School of and the North Carolina League of Municipalities, is to provide a professional organization of city, town and village clerks from across the state, dedicated to the continued growth and development of each municipal clerk and their municipality.
