Faculty Member Maureen Berner Challenges TEDx Audience to Find Solution for Childhood Hunger

On February 20, 2016, Maureen Berner addresssed an audience of 2,000 at TEDx WakeForestU. She challenged the audience to think of cihldhood hunger as a local economic development opportunity. According to Berner, the amount of available federal funding that is not being used to address this issue is critical not only to the children who are not being fed but to the future of North Carolina communities that could be left without a viable, educated, healthy workforce. "I don't want to feed 100 children," she said. "I want to feed all 851,000 kids in the public school system." View Maureen Berner's presentation, or scroll through all of the TEDx videos.
