In-Person Events through the School of Government

January 2022

UNC-Chapel Hill and the School of Government are required to follow the University’s COVID-19 Community Standards in order to help maintain a healthy and safe community.

Here’s what that means for all of us:

  • Students, faculty, staff, and visitors must wear a face mask at all times while inside any University building or attending any School of Government-sponsored program, meeting, or service. We will provide you with a mask upon arrival—on campus or offsite—if you don't have one.
  • You may remove your face mask only when eating or drinking. Masks are not required outdoors. If the mask standard changes, we will let you know.
  • Monitor your health and do not come to in-person events if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Be respectful of those who wish to maintain their personal space.
  • All members of our campus community are asked to be fully vaccinated (including a booster). This guidance remains the best way to control the spread of the virus and the length and severity of illness.

Other Lessons Learned

At the School of Government, the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that many public officials appreciate the opportunity to participate in programs remotely. We are glad to hear it and we are doing our best to continue to offer this option.
