Estates: Drafting Orders for Clerks

This course is offered through the UNC School of Government North Carolina Judicial College and is available to both clerks and assistant clerks of superior court. It is intended for clerks and assistant clerks who have some experience presiding over hearings.  It will cover issues related to drafting orders where the clerk is the presiding judicial official and there is no N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts form order applicable to the proceeding. It will largely focus on drafting orders in estate, trust, and power of attorney proceedings. 

The course will cover topics such as appellate standards of review, components of an order, evidence, making findings of fact and conclusions of law, attorney drafted orders, and entry of an order. 

This course is limited in attendance and is by application only.
