    This course will cover the legal requirements of the Juvenile Justice Reinvestment Act, often referred to as “Raise the Age.” Topics will include new requirements for processing offenses alleged to have been committed by juveniles at age 16 and 17 from first encounter with law enforcement through transfer to superior court or juvenile disposition in district court. The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice will also provide information about juvenile justice system preparation for implementation of the new law on December 1, 2019. The course is open to any individual whose work touches the processing of juvenile delinquency cases, including law enforcement, juvenile court counselors, judges, magistrates, clerks, juvenile prosecutors and defense counsel, and school administrators.
