What Life is Like in Delinquency Out-of-Home Settings
These one-day courses are offered by the North Carolina Judicial College. Each course will provide District Court Judges the opportunity to visit out-of-home settings used in delinquency matters. The course is required for advanced certification in juvenile justice (only required to attend one offering). Due to the nature of the program, each tour date will be limited to five judges. Please apply to the tour location closest to your district, if possible. Visits will include a Youth Development Center, a juvenile detention center, and a non-secure residential program such as a transitional home. Participants will tour facilities and have the opportunity to talk with staff. More information can be found on the draft agendas. If you’d like a more detailed agenda, please reach out to the Program Manager, Karli Wilson (kwilson@sog.unc.edu).
