Knapp Library
The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.
- Covid-19 Response

Alecia Matthews joined the School of Government in 2016 as project coordinator in the Dean’s Office. In 2024, she transitioned to an assignment as assistant director of the ncIMPACT Initiative.

Prior to joining the School, she was graduate program manager at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Nursing. Matthews earned a BA in public communication from the State University of New York College at Buffalo, a master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Kansas, and an Ed.D. from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
