Regional Councils in North Carolina

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

This report was commissioned by the North Carolina Association of Regional Council Directors. The goal was to gain an understanding of current and future service needs from North Carolina's 17 regional councils and to update budget, membership, and service data contained in a 1995 report on regionalism in North Carolina. The 1995 report, "Regionalism in North Carolina", can be found here. Current data was obtained from: - A web survey of city and county managers, mayors, and county board chairs - Regional Council Directors - The North Carolina Office of State Budget & Management - The US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics
