Knapp Library
The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.

Elected Ed is a UNC School of Government podcast hosted by Patrice Roesler, who serves as the Manager of Elected Official Programming within the School's Center for Public Leadership and Governance. Elected Ed covers important public policy issues encountered by local elected officials in their day-to-day roles leading and governing all across North Carolina.

Summary:

In 2023 legislation enacted by the NC General Assembly created what is colloquially referred to as the “Parent's Bill of Rights" (SL 2023-106). Local public officials who are responsible for health care services for minors are affected by the legislation, although some parts of the bill simply codify language from already-existing laws. Learn what’s new and what’s not new from the local public health care practitioners’ standpoint, and hear the important points for local elected leaders.
