Knapp Library
The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.
- Covid-19 Response

Makayla Hipke joined the School of Government in 2019. She previously served as the School's Advancement Communications Manager before being named as Director of Content Strategy in 2022. Previously, Hipke served as director of communications for the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas and worked in athletics communications at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Nebraska. She earned a bachelor's degree with highest dinctinction from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is currently pursuing an MPA degree at the School.
