G.S. 143B-933

G.S. 131D-10.3A requires NC DHHS to obtain criminal history checks of licensed foster parents, applicants for foster parent licenses, and any individuals 18 and older who live in the prospective foster home. It also provides that the checks are are not public records, are confidential and privileged, and may be used only by the division and other legally authorized persons. It authorizes NC DHHS to destroy the information after it is used for the purposes authorized by this section after one calendar year.
G.S. 143B-933 authorizes the Department of Public Safety to provide the criminal history checks and reiterates that NC DHHS must keep the information "privileged" as provided in G.S. 131D-10.3A(g).
