Criminal record checks of employees and , applicants for employment at the state Division of Juvenile Justice of the Department of Public Safety, as well as of independent contractors who provide direct care for a client, patient, student, resident, or ward of the Division, supervisors of employees of the state Department of Health and Human Services or the state Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention  who provide direct care for clients, patients, students, residents, or wards of those departments are confidential and privileged and may be used only by those departments.
