The social services department generally must notify a person who reports suspected child abuse or neglect whether the report has been accepted for investigation, whether the report has been referred to state or local law enforcement agencies, whether the department found abuse, neglect, or dependency, whether the department is taking action to protect an abused, neglected, or dependent child, and what action the department is taking to protect an abused, neglected, or dependent child.
