This session offers a review of everything parent attorneys in juvenile abuse, neglect, and dependency court need to know about the 2019-2020 legislative session. Wendy Sotolongo, the chief Parent Defender with the Office of the Parent Defender, covers a number of recently enacted laws on a variety of topics, including the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), the definition of “caretaker,” mandatory reporting laws, changes in juvenile appeals, the COVID-19 Recovery Act, and more.
