Guy is a widely acknowledged expert on social equity and the emotive demands of street level work, and her teaching and research focus on the human processes involved in public service delivery. Her talk will focus on those who deliver public services–elections officials, public health professionals, police officers, teachers, caseworkers, parks and recreation workers, city bus drivers–the nerve endings of the policy process. Guy will speak about the challenges confronting the workforce, what happens when state meets street, and changes on the horizon.

A University of Colorado Distinguished Professor at the University of Colorado-Denver School of Public Affairs, Guy is also a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration, past president of the American Society for Public Administration, and co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Social Equity and Public Administration.

In 2002, the School of Government’s MPA Alumni Association honored Professor Deil Wright for his 34 years of teaching MPA students by creating the Deil S. Wright Lecture in Public Administration. Each year, a distinguished professional from the field of public administration enriches the educational experience of students, alumni, faculty, and interested members of the community.
