Canvas Instructions

The School of Government uses a Learning Management system, CANVAS, to share electronic materials with program participants. Please find detailed instructions below on creating a CANVAS account or accessing the log in page if you've previously created your CANVAS log in account. If you already have a CANVAS log-in:

Step 1: If you have previously attended a School of Government program that used Canvas AND your email address is the same, Canvas, the School of Government’s online learning portal, at https://sogunc.instructure.com/

Step 2: On the left side, enter your email address as your username and your password and click “Log in”. 

 

 

 If you are new to CANVAS or the School of Government, or if you would like to reset your password, click “Reset Password”, enter the email address used to purchase your registration to the program, and click “Submit”.

 

 

In CANVAS: 

  • Once logged in, you may be asked to accept the updated user policy—click “Confirm”.
  • You will then be redirected to your dashboard, which will display the current program that you are registered for.
  • If you do not see your course on your dashboard, click the "Courses" icon on the left menu and click "All Courses."
