Ultimately, under G.S. 15-196.4, the statutory responsibility for determining jail credit rests with the court. In the interest of sharing information related to jail credit, Community Corrections has decided as a matter of policy (§ E.0205(b)(1)) to file copies of quick dip delegated authority violation reports with the clerk in the county of supervision and, if it is different, the county of origin.
