Essentials for Local Government Managers

This new program is geared towards local government managers who are new to North Carolina or to the profession or to assistant managers and other upper-level local government managers who are interested in becoming city or county managers in the future. The program will give participants a broad set of training on managing local governments in North Carolina. Offered in two one-day sessions, the program will:

  • allow for peer learning;
  • be interactive;
  • cover key topics every manager in North Carolina should know;
  • provide a book and other resources for participants; and
  • give participants guidance about further training and mentoring options.


The class is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Two dates are offered to choose from:
